5 Effective Ways to Make Qur’anic Recitation a Daily Routine

Abdul Basit June 27, 2025

In our busy resides, finding time to connect with the Qur’an can really help bring some peace and clarity. The Qur’an is more than just a book; a source of profound relationship with Allah Almighty ﷻ; presenting comfort and guidenece when we need it most.

"O Allah, make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sorrow, and the reliever of my worries."

Below are some adequate and exceptional tips so you can easily make Qur'anic recitation your daily ritual, and this is pretty straightforward.

1. Begin with Intention & Du'a – Make Your Heart the Starting Point:

Before any habit can take root, the heart must be open. The most powerful change begins with a sincere intention (niyyah). Tell Allah ﷻ you want to make an affinity with His Book.

Al Qur’ān:

*“And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways.”*

(Surah Al-‘Ankabut 29:69)

Every morning, just ask Allah in your own words, “Oh Allah the Almighty, make Your words the light of my heart.” Keep this du’a close, because habits rooted in du’a are held by holy help.

2. Fix a Time – Deem Your Recitation Like Prayer:

The Qur’an deserves a special place in your day, not the surplus moments. Choose a fixed time, like after Fajr or before sleeping, and try to be consistent on it.

Hadith:

“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if they are small.”

(Sahih Bukhari)

Even 5 minutes of daily recitation at a fixed time can open doors of barakah (blessing). It’s not about how much you recite, but its all about prioritizing the Holy book every and everyday.

3. Think and Reflect Instead of Rushing:

Don’t just recite. Engage. Pause at a verse. Try to understand and reflect upon the theme of Ayah. Some verses will calm you, others will shake you, the more you will try to understand, the more you will be close to the Quran.

Al Qur’ān:

“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses...”

(Surah Sad 38:29)

4.  Pair Qur’ān with Another Daily Habit:

One of the easiest ways to make the Qur’an part of your life is to connect it to something you already do every day. Whether it’s sipping morning tea, walking, cooking, or commuting, recite it or listen to it in the background with clear silence and focus.

Qur’ān :

“ *Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides…* ”

(Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:191)

 5. Remind Yourself of the Reward:

Hadith :

“Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will receive one good deed, and that good deed is multiplied by ten.”

(Tirmidhi)

“I do not say that ‘Alif Laam Meem’ is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.”

Qur’an:

*“And whatever good you send forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah.”*

*(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:110)*
